Redline Bicycles and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have recalled about 200 of the company’s D640 model.
The cause of the recall is because the headtube can separate from the frame, according to a CPSC release. There have been four reports of minor scrapes and cuts.
The recall involves all 2008 Redline D640 bicycles. The bicycles were sold in black and have aluminum frames. “Redline” is written down the frame’s tube. The model number is written on the frame’s top tube.
The bike was sold in specialty stores nationwide from December 2007 to May 2010 for about $900 and was manufactured in China.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and contact a local Redline bicycle dealer to receive a free frame replacement.
